After the Fall: How Humpty Dumpty Got Back Up Again by Dan Santat
While the intended audience is kids around 4 to 8 years old, this book is one of those picture books that is great to use with older kids and even adults. The message about overcoming fear is never heavy-handed, but is truly uplifting. Rather than reveal the plot, I’d rather recommend that you will be awed by the imagery, the illustrations, and yes, the plot line. While Humpty Dumpty was put back together physically after his fall, he still had his on-going fears to cope with. How did he get over being afraid and freeing himself? Read it and find out! Preferable with a six-year-old snuggled on your lap. . .
