World Book Night is April 23, 2014, but it’s not too soon to be thinking about it. Especially since you might consider applying to be a “World Book Giver.” World Book Night provides free books for “Givers” to put into the hands of kids and adults who don’t typically read regularly. This is a great way to give the gift of reading to your community, kids at a school, in a rural village with little access to books, or other possible audiences. You can apply to be a World Book Giver–but the deadline is coming up soon: January 5th.
The 35 books available are AWESOME. Including some wonderful holiday books like Patricia Polacco’s The Giving Cup; Lemony Snicket’s The Latke Who Couldn’t Stop Screaming, even Trina Schart Hyman’s illustrated A Child’s Christmas in Wales.
Visit the World Book Night Website for the complete book list and for more details!
